Head of Sales,
Neel Madhvani is currently the Head of Sales at Boxed, a membership-free wholesale retailer that offers direct delivery of bulk-sized packages via the Boxed app or website. But here is the longer story: studied creative writing and then he started building furniture in his father’s garage. Not very good at either, he took a job at a boutique private equity firm instead – building an e-commerce company on eBay. He then joined his family business and built a new division with his brother. It worked and continues to grow. Graduate school in Boston was next – an MBA and a Masters in Science in Information Systems at Boston University. Neel then did a bit of private equity consulting for PriceWaterhouse Coopers with a focus on mergers and acquisitions technology strategy. Staples called (happily) and he spent almost 5 years at the company – at first managing their mergers and acquisitions (buying an machine learning company and a SaaS platform amongst other things), then focused on innovation, and then managing their growing industrial supplies division. Today he gets to be a part of Boxed in NYC. He has no wife or kids but he does have parents, a brother and an adorable nephew. Personal obsessions: food, agriculture, meditation, travel, sailing, skiing.
